Agriculture Officer (JMG I) : 245 posts, Pay Scale : Rs.10000-18240/- , Age : 20-28 years, Qualification : Graduate with minimum 50% marks in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Animal Husbandry/ Veterinary Science/ Dairy Science/ Agriculture Engineering/ Fishery
Science/ Pisciculture/ Agriculture Marketing and Co-operation OR Post-graduate in any one of the above disciplines.
NATIONALITY/CITIZENSHIP:
A candidate must be either (i) a citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intension of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) or (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt of India.
A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be allowed to appear in the written examination/interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him/her by the Govt of India.
RELAXATION OF UPPER AGE LIMIT:
(i) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates - 5 years.
(ii) Other Backward Classes candidates - 3 years.
(iii) Physically challenged candidates - 10 years.
(iv) Persons domiciled in the Kashmir division of the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 - 5 years.
(v) Eligible PNB employees (only for post codes 02, 03 and 04) - 5 years.
(vi) Children/family members of those who died in the 1984 riots - 3 years.
(vii) Ex-service Commissioned Officers, including ECOs/SSCOs, who have rendered at least 05 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from the last date for receipt of applications) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on invalidment - 5 years.
NOTE:
a) The relaxation in upper age limit is cumulative as per Govt of India guidelines.
b) Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/PC category must possess a caste certificate/certificate of handicap issued by the competent authority as specified at pt no. 5. In case of candidates belonging to the OBC category, the caste certificate inter-alia must specify that the candidate does not belong to the ‘creamy layer’ section excluded from the benefits of the reservations for Other Backward Classes in Civil Post & Services under Govt of India. Candidates belonging to the OBC category but falling within the creamy layer shall not be entitled to reservation/relaxation. The OBC Certificate should not be more than one year old as on date of advertisement.
c) Physically challenged candidates claiming the benefit of reservation/age relaxation must also possess a medical certificate as specified in the Persons with Disabilities Act of 1995 in support of their disability. d) Once an Ex-serviceman has joined a Govt job on the civil side after availing of the benefits given to him as an Ex-serviceman for his re-employment, his ex-serviceman status for the purpose of re-employment in Govt ceases e) All persons eligible for age relaxation under 4 (iv) above must possess a domicile certificate from the District Magistrate of Kashmir division within whose jurisdiction he/she had ordinarily resided, or any other authority designated in this regard by the Govt of Jammu & Kashmir, to the effect that the candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir division of the state of Jammu & Kashmir from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989.
f) All persons eligible for age relaxation under 4 (vi) above must possess a certificate from the competent authority to the effect that their father/mother/family member died in the 1984 riots. The above relaxations are available only if the candidate fulfils the various conditions prescribed in the Govt of India orders and instructions in this regard.

COMPETENT AUTHORITY FOR THE ISSUE OF CERTIFICATE TO SC/ST/OBC/PC:
SC/ST/OBC: District Magistrate/Additional Distt Magistrate/Collector/Deputy Commissioner/Additional Dy Commissioner/Dy Collector/First Class Stipendary Magistrate/ Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Taluka Magistrate/Executive Magistrate/Extra Assistant Commissioner/Chief Presidency Magistrate/Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/Presidency Magistrate/Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar/Sub- Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his/her family normally resides.
PC: Authorised certifying authority will be a Medical Board duly constituted by the Central/State Govt
having at least 3 members consisting of Chief Medical Officer, Sub-Divisional Medical Officer of the
district and an orthopaedic surgeon/ophthalmology surgeon/ ENT surgeon as the case may be.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
(a) Selection for Post Codes 01, 02, 03 and 04 will be through interview alone, while selection for Post Code 05 & 07 will be through written test and interview. The question papers for the written tests will be bilingual (Hindi/English), except for the Test of English.
(b) The selection procedure for Post Code 06 will comprise
(i) Preliminary examination (written);
(ii)Main examination (written); (iii) Group discussion; and
(iv) Interview. The question papers for the
preliminary and main examinations will be bilingual (Hindi/English), except for the Test of English and the Descriptive Paper (main examination).
(c) Merely satisfying the eligibility norms will not entitle a candidate to be called for written
test/interview. The Bank may call only the requisite number of candidates after preliminary
screening/shortlisting with reference to the candidates’ qualifications, suitability, experience etc.
(d) The written test for Post Code 05 & 07 will be held on 4.1.2009
(e) The preliminary examination for Post Code 06 will be held on 11.1.2009.
(f) The dates of the tests are tentative. The exact dates will be communicated to the candidates through the call letters for the examination. The Bank reserves the right to cancel or make any change in the dates of the tests, if necessary.
(g) The written test for post code 06 i.e. Management Trainees will be scheduled at the following
centres on 11.01.2009 and the address of the venue will be advised in the call letter:

Written test for post code 05 & 07 i.e. Deputy Managers(Economics) and Agriculture Officers will be held on 04.01.2009 at Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Lucknow and Bhopal Centres only.
(h) The Bank reserves the right to cancel any of the centres and/or add other centres, depending on the response, administrative feasibility, etc. The Bank also reserves the right to allot to the candidate any centre other than the one he/she has opted for.
(i) The Bank may at its discretion hold re-examination wherever necessary in respect of a centre/venue of
a candidate(s).
(j) Candidates will appear for the written test/interview at their own expense. However, SC/ST candidates will be reimbursed for the travelling expenses incurred in attending the interview, in terms of Govt guidelines.
7. PRE-EXAMINATION TRAINING (For Management Trainees) :
It is proposed to impart pre-examination training (PET) for the Post Code 06 (MT), free of cost, to a limited number of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Minority Community candidates on a first come-first served basis at Delhi, Lucknow, Bhopal, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. The training centres may be changed at the discretion of the Bank. An eligible candidate who wishes to avail Pre- Examination Training should fill in the relevant column in the application format. All expenses regarding travelling, boarding, lodging etc. will be borne by the candidate for attending the Pre- Examination Training programme at the concerned Training Centre.
8. FEE AND POSTAGE CHARGES (NON-REFUNDABLE):
(i) For candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PC categories, there is no application fee except postage charges of Rs 50/-.
(ii) For all other categories, including OBC/dependents of servicemen killed in action, the application fee is Rs 250/- + Rs 50/- postage charges = Rs 300/-.
9. HOW TO APPLY:
Procedure for Depositing Fee:
The application fee must be paid in cash, separately for each post if the candidate wishes to apply for more than one post, at any of the Bank’s Core Banking Branches (CBBs).
Before depositing the fee, the candidate must download a copy of the payment voucher from our website www.pnbindia.com. The voucher will be in duplicate. The following details must be entered into both copies of the voucher:
(i) Candidate’s name,
(ii) Candidate’s category,
(iii) Name and code no. of the Branch selected for payment,
(iv) Date of payment and
(v) Fee to be paid
Thereafter, the voucher is to be presented at the Branch, along with the application fee. After payment, the candidate must ensure that the transaction id generated is entered into the voucher. The candidate’s copy of the voucher will then be handed over to him/her.
Payment of fee should be made on or before 29.11.2008. The date will be the same for candidates belonging to far-flung areas.
Procedure to Apply for post code No. 01, 02, 03 and 04 (Officers for Security/Treasury Departments) is as under: The application fee must be paid in cash, as per procedure detailed above. After depositing the fee, the candidates must log on to our website www.pnbindia.com and apply online only. Transaction Id provided by the branch after payment must be quoted in the application. Take a printout of the application after submitting and the application printout alongwith the Payment voucher and duly attested copies of certificates pertaining to age, educational qualifications, and work experience be sent at the following

An application printout not accompanied by requisite application fee payment voucher, duly attested copies of age/education/work experience certificate or not signed by the candidate or incomplete in any respect will not be entertained.
Procedure to Apply for post code No. 05, 06 and 07 (Dy.Manager-Economics, Management Trainee and Agriculture Officer) is as under:
Candidates should log onto our website www.pnbindia.com The candidates must apply online only.
No other means/mode of application will be accepted.
The transaction Id provided by the Branch after payment must be quoted in the application and the original payment voucher must be produced along with the call letter at the time of the written test.
Candidates will have to submit separate applications for each post after paying a separate fee for each post,
in case they wish to apply for more than one post.
Applications, once submitted, will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the application fee/ postage, once
paid, shall be neither refunded nor held in reserve for any other examination.
Application registration on our website will be open from 10.11.2008 to 29.11.2008. The last date for registering applications online is 29.11.2008.
The candidate should have a valid email id. This will enable him/her to receive call letter/ interview advice etc. by email.
Candidates should keep a printout of the completed application as well as a copy of the payment voucher, for their own record. An Information Handout will be sent to the candidates along with the call letter for written test.
10. CALL LETTER FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATION:
Call letters will be issued by post to the correspondence addresses provided by the candidates. An eligible candidate who does not receive the Call letter for the post of Dy. Manager (Economics)/Agriculture Officer (Post Code 05 and 07) by 31.12.2008 and in respect of Management Trainee (Post Code 06) by 7.1.2009 should contact the following with a printout of the completed application and a copy of the payment voucher, for obtaining duplicate call letters. Duplicate call letters for post code 05 & 07 will be issued between 1.1.2009 and 3.1.2009 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and that for post code 06 will be issued between 8.1.2009 and 10.1.2009 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm:
11. USE OF SCRIBE:
Visually impaired candidates and candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use the services of a scribe during the written examination. In all cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply:
i) The candidate will have to arrange his/her own scribe at his/her own cost.
ii) The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower to the stipulated eligibility criteria
iii) For Post Code 05 and 07 the scribe should be from an academic discipline other than that of the candidate. The scribe should posses lesser marks than the candidate and not more than 60% marks in his own academic stream, which has to be different from the candidate.
For Post Code 06, the scribe can be from any academic discipline. The scribe should posses lesser marks than the candidate and not more than 60% marks in his own academic stream.
iv) Both the candidate as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking, confirming that the scribe fulfils all the eligibility criteria for a scribe as stipulated above. Further, in case it later transpires that he/she did not fulfil any of the laid down eligibility criteria or suppressed material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written examination.
v) Candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hour of the
examination.
ACTION AGAINST CANDIDATES FOUND GUILTY OF MISCONDUCT:
Candidates are warned that they should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered with/fabricated or should not suppress any material information while filling up the application form. At the time of written examination/interview, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of:
(i) using unfair means during the written examination, or
(ii) impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person, or
(iii) misbehaving in the examination hall or taking away the question booklet (or any part thereof)/answer
sheet from the examination hall, or
(iv) resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his/her candidature for selection, or
(v) obtaining support for his/her candidature by any unfair means, such a candidate may, in addition to
rendering himself/herself liable to criminal prosecution, be liable:
(a) to be disqualified from the examination for which he/she is a candidate.
(b) to be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period, from any examination or recruitment
conducted by PNB.
(c) for termination of service, if he/she has already joined the Bank.
The Bank will be comparing the responses of a candidate with those of other candidates to detect
patterns of similarity. If as per the laid down procedure it is suspected that responses have been
shared and scores obtained are not genuine/valid, the Bank reserves right to cancel his/her
candidature.
14. Last Date for submission of Online Applications for Dy. Manager (Economics), Management
Trainee and Agriculture Officer (Post Codes 05, 06 and 07): 29.11.2008
15. Last Date for submission of Online Applications for Chief Security Officer, Asst. General
Manager (Treasury), Chief Manager (Treasury) and Senior Manager (Treasury) (Post Codes 01, 02, 03, and 04): 29.11.2008 The Application printouts for the above posts alongwith other documents should reach the specified address on or before 6.12.2008. For the candidates staying abroad and for those posting applications from the Andaman & Nicobar islands, Lakshdweep, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladak division of J & K state, Lahoul and Spiti district and Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, the last date for receipt of application printouts for above posts will be 13.12.2008.
